Welcome to St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School
Part of Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust
We would like to extend a warm welcome to the children, parents, carers and friends of our school. St Cuthbert’s is a happy, friendly and nurturing learning environment which aims to encourage each child to achieve his or her full potential.
At St Cuthbert’s we live and learn in faith and love, through Jesus’ teachings.
Our school is a place where we can grow as a family, helping each other to lead full and happy lives.
Thank you for visiting our website. Whilst it will give you a flavour of our school, in order to see and experience the warm and friendly atmosphere at St Cuthbert’s we encourage you to visit us during the day to observe the staff and children at work and play. We are always happy to show you around.

In-Year Applications
An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. An application should be made to the school by completing the in-year application form and returning it to Admission and Information Team, Newcastle City Council, Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH.
Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria as set out in the admissions arrangements for 2024-25 will be applied. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.
If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see admissions arrangements for more details.
You will be advised of the outcome of your application as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of their outcome within 15 school days of receipt but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.
You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.
If you have any questions in relation to in-year admissions please contact Miss Shaw via the school office.
